We have had a lot of success in organizing NetBat projects in DotNetUsers.Org. The two projects we did in the users group helped several colleagues share technical knowledge, as well as build personal and professional connections with each other. Many of us who experienced the NetBat remain as strong friends and colleagues today. 

 

NetBat (.NET Build Applications Team) is a community project in which we have a set of software professionals voluntarily undertake a project  of common interest. The team is made of people with varying levels of experience, and the team meets periodically (typically once or twice a week) and work on the project. A typical project would last anywhere from three to six months.

 

The first NetBat project was "Moth", an EBay clone in .NET. The second project was "Callisto", a job board project.

 

We will be announcing a third NetBat project as soon as we have completed the logistics preparations. The announcement and the sign-up sheet will be posted on this site asap. We have exciting projects and variations in the works, so please stay tuned. In the meantime, I would like to hear from you.
